We have a jeanneau ds40 with a yanmar 4jh3e - all of a sudden the engine cutoff button does not work -cleaned the terminals to solonid as best possible - anyone have a similar problem - any thoughts?

If you have a multimeter check to make sure you have 12v DC at the stop solenoid when pushing the stop button. You can also run 12v directly to the solenoid and see if it operates.
Also, clean the button at panel. As Dan said, making sure solenoid works has an easier access; do it first.
