74' Coronado 28 fuel tank removal

I am looking for some ideas in replacing the diesel fuel tank in my 28 Coronado. It is a 10 gallon tank located in the port quarter berth in a fiberglass tub. I have removed the lines and the tank does not have any mechanical attachments. It is held fast to the tub and my question is if Coronado set the tank with Resin or another glue. My other choice would be to cut the tub out and build a new one but I am trying not to have to do that if possible. Any suggestions?

It may make sense to cut the tub out as the new tank likely won't be the same size anyway.
