I need Curtains

Hey everyone,

I have searched the store and the forums, and maybe im just blind but – Does anyone know where to order curtains for a sailboat?

My windows have a small horizontal rail above and below the window. I assume there is some hardware that slides into these tracks.

Hopefully someone on sailnet will have a link to a distributor.

Hi, bought the material and rods with hardware at Walmart. I used double sided tape and voila curtains. Good luck with our search.

We bought fabric from a local store and tabs from sailrite. Measured the width at the aft end and at the forward end. Dod a little geometry to get the taper over 10' and 5 curtains and laid them out on the dining room table. In a couple of weeks we had great curtains.

make your own. Much cheaper and can be done on a home machine. About the easiest sewing that there is and way cheaper.

We have a system similar to this:

Sewing Notions, Flagcloth, Upholstery Supplies, Drapery Grommets, Sunbrella

My wife made the curtains, using the existing hardware. These kits are a bit pricey but make for a nice installation. Our tracks are aluminum, these seem to be plastic but look otherwise similar.

Well I ordered the Sew on Tail Slide Tape. The only curtains I could find at west marine had the button snaps, and I wanted to reuse the slide rails that were already on the boat.

I bought some fabric and brushed up on my sewing skills. I had to make 8 curtains in total. It was pretty easy. Thanks again for the link to the hardware.

The Admiral made new curtains for our boat. Same system: A small rail above and below each portlight. She bought all the materials, incl. the little sldes, at Sailrite. They came out great and work like a charm.
