Which Honda genst 20001 or 1A, Companion or regular?

Hi,
We are ready to purchase a generator. I am looking at the Honda 2000i and there are two different models.
One with two household type plugs and the “Companion” Model with a 30 am power cord plug. Although they say you do not get the 30 amps it would seem the correct one to purchase for our 36’ boat as we use a 30 amp power cord. We would not need an additional pigtail.
Any feedback would be appreciated before I click buy.
I am looking at this site $990.00 for “Companion” and $890.00 for regular model.
WiseSales
Thank you.
Chip

I've looked at this as well; I haven't bought one yet, but I think I'm going to go with the "companion" model just because it will be easier to connect to my (and likely your) electrical system.

I am talking about the 2000i and the 2000iA and these can be connected. I do not plan on buying two. I was just thinking of the 30 amp plug, that it was a good idea but was looking to make sure there were not any serious flaws with this decision.

OK just bought the 2000i companion and got the oil changer and hour meter.
Total was $1076.00 to the door.

k1vsk will become famous soon enough
Your choice pretty much depends on how you plan to use it. If only to power the boat via the shore power plug, that's why they redesigned the power panel on the generator.
If you require the flexibility of having multiple house plugs, get a pigtail and you have the best of both options for very little add'l cost.
