Sleeping Beauty (Winter storage)

My brother and I are the new owners of a 1986 Tashiba 40 that needs quite a bit of TLC. We came up with the hair-brained idea to salvage an old green house to provide us a warm/dry place to work on her this winter. After several long days of planning/deconstruction/beer drinking/construction/beer drinking here are the results:

Very cool, you have to keep us posted on the progress. How about a little more info on your boat?

We bought her from the 20 year second owner out of Duxbury, MA. She was built by Ta Shing boat yard in Taiwan. Our winter plans include:
-rebuild engine
-replace rigging
-barrier coat
-strip varnish and revarnish
-replace old wiring, plumbing, hoses

Very nice! I can't make out the rib material: Is that PVC? How is the warmth inside on a cold day?

Looks like the way to build a good winter workshop
I'm jealous, How long did it take you to put it up? Will it all fit into the back of a p/u for transport?
Enjoy
Don

Hunterdon31-
It took 4 long days with any where from 2-4 guys working on it. This is the first time I have built a greenhouse, so next year I think 3 guys could erect it in one long day (the end frames are already made, which was very time consuming). The hoops are two pieces- so they break down to a size that would fit into a pickup.
wwilson-
The ribs/hoops are metal. The cover is 3 mil double layer poly (just like a regular greenhouse). The airspace between the two layers of poly is created with an inflation fan. The pressurized airspace provides insulation, decreases chaffing of the poly on the hoops, and reduces condensation. I'm am not sure how much insulation value the airspace provides, but the grower that gave me the greenhouse thinks I could maintain 50deg during the coldest months with a 50,000-75,000 BTU heater. I am planning on installing a wood stove, as I have a huge stock pile of fire wood.

I was going to suggest doing something about possible condensation, but it seems you've already done something. Looks nice. Now spend some money on the BOAT!
