canvas shops on saint thomas VI

While we had our boat on the hard at Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor some one made off with our Microwave, some tools and our Bimini. The bimini frame was bolted fast to the boat so we still have it. What I need now is the name of a good canvas shop on the island. I would like to have a new bimini and frame made for my boat.

Jim,

Had my boat in the BVI for 11 years and had much canvass work done. Can't tell you how many times I blew out my 1.5oz drifter :-)

Also had big genoa's cut down, adapted for roller furling, etc.

And, had a bimini made. It's still going strong, some 10 years and many thousand sea miles since. Here's a pic: DSC_0028

Sailmaker of choice was Manassah Phillip. Good quality, good prices. His telephone is 284-494-4982. His shop is in Road Town, but hard to find unless you know where you're going. Most everyone knows him, though and Johnny at Johnny's Maritime at Nanny Cay can point you in the right direction.

Been about 5 years since I've seen him; trust he's still there.

Can't think of the name of the place but there is a canvas shop in the Sub-Base area that has a good reputation as does Manfried on Hassel Island.

Thanks. I work at the Pueblo Sub Base and found the guy in sub base. Talked to him but he is off island until next week. Hoping to hook up then.
