For a number of years I kept a Garmin 76 at my binnacle with a plug to connect it to my 12V supply. I was pleased with it until I found that all of it's tide and current data was obsolete as of this past spring. I purchased a Garmin 440 for our trip up to Maine from Florida and our return this november. I'm not fond of interfacing much of my equipment, so I don't have the model that allows for the depthsounder or radar interface. The built in chart data is quite sufficient and the images and ****** is large enough for my "old guy" eyes. All these devices are subject to error or lacking updates of local marker moves; therefore, I'm always aware that the real world trumps the cyber world. In summary,- it's a great GPS for me. 'take care and joy, Aythya crew
