garmin 440 map plotter

For a number of years I kept a Garmin 76 at my binnacle with a plug to connect it to my 12V supply. I was pleased with it until I found that all of it's tide and current data was obsolete as of this past spring. I purchased a Garmin 440 for our trip up to Maine from Florida and our return this november. I'm not fond of interfacing much of my equipment, so I don't have the model that allows for the depthsounder or radar interface. The built in chart data is quite sufficient and the images and ****** is large enough for my "old guy" eyes. All these devices are subject to error or lacking updates of local marker moves; therefore, I'm always aware that the real world trumps the cyber world. In summary,- it's a great GPS for me. i bid on a 440 garmin on e-bay, just wanted a little input, if it was junk or not, how much would you pay for a slighty used 440?

We've got the Garmin 545 which is the 1-inch bigger cousin of the 440. Definitely not junk--we love it. Can't suggest what you should bid though.

i bid 200. my nearest dealer, eastport me. sell the 440 garmin for700, oh yes i forgot to ask. are they programed for canadian east coast as well?

I think I paid $400 for mine new on sale.

You will need the vision chip +/- $300 for your area. Great machine for the price. Small screen.

I checked the range of my Garmin 440 with the built in coverage and it includes the bay side of Nova Scotia just beyand St. John to Quaco Ledge Bell and to Coffin Island just beyond Liverpool on the Atlantic side. 'take care and joy, Aythya crew

I got a email today from West Marine, 440S is $449 + 10% off until monday, That would be $404, I wouldn't pay more than 1/2 for used electronics.
