Rescue Tape saves Thanksgiving

About 10am Jane called me to the kitchen sounding panicky. The sink drain pipe nut was broken. Water was puddled beneath, dripping into the basement. I tried to get a replacement at Walmart, bought some plastic junk that I hoped I could cobble into a repair. While driving back I remembered I had a roll of rescue tape in the car (two on the boat). The plastic junk didn't do it. I tried for 40 minutes. Finally held it together and applied three wraps of the tape. Magic, it's fine. Now we can cook and wash dishes.
This is a must have for the boat.

good job

Hi John,

Nice save!

I keep stuff like that on the boat, along with some quickset epoxy, hose clamps, and a roll of duct tape.

Rescue tape is amazing stuff, the only drawback is, it works so good you ( well, I ) tend to put off proper repair

It's good stuff.

Hubby used it, along with a curtain track, to (temporarily) solve our halyard wrap problem this past summer.

I intend to buy a replacement fitting next week, but I'm leaving the rescue tape in place until (unless?) it leaks.

Brings to mind - how is the pump in the WS galley behaving these days?

LOL, Tom, I haven't fixed that yet either. Retirement looms..... though maybe I'll do some work over the winter while she's at the dock. I'm thinking of installing a foot pump.
