swage fittings

I have running backstays, one of which has a snag new this year. I will need to go up the mast to cut off the swage fittings. What's the best way to do it, & to put up new stays? I'd like to do this in as few trips as necessary.

I made up my replacement running backstays with Dynex Dux. Then it was a simple project to go aloft with both replacements and switch them out. I do not understand why you would want to cut your fittings. The should have a pin ad cotter pin set up.
Only one trip up the mast needed. The runners are really light and easy to handle now. I got the rope and fittings here....Home

As posted above, I also see no need to "cut". I understand the possibility of the one trip, but I usually remove the old shroud and use it to confirm the measurement for my replacement and take the second trip up the mast. 'take care and joy, Aythya crew
