Well, I finally got the aft Head bulkhead out after removing the rest of the Port deck frames and pulling the House frame up.



Of course, there was some rot as expected. The rib is gone down to just above the keel strap.



I stuck a screwdriver in it easily..



The bulkhead tie is rotten and broken as well.



The rest of the ribs and planking look pretty good. There are a couple of cracked ribs but the sisters that are in place are still fine. No telling how many years ago this was done. I haven't decided to pull and replace those cracked ribs yet.



I am thinking of replacing all of the chainplates.



This glove is a reminder of not wearing gloves when running machinary. I was jointing when it grabbed the glove. I yanked the hand away when I felt the tug and missed getting a nasty boo boo.



I have to pull this Chainplate Partner to get the clamp out.



Lot's of work yet to do on this old girl... Anybody wanna run up to Bellingham and get dirty?

Yeah Smack, a really stupid thing to do and one I know better considering how much I've been around dangerous equipment over the years...

OUCH!...I hurt thinking about it..ya got lucky...pop took a big chunk out of his thumb feeding material into my router table years ago..I'm glad he "learnt that lesson fer me"..

I have to get motivated to get dirty myself tomorrow... getting harder to do the longer this project drags out...Im sure you know the drill by know.

The mangled glove gives me an excuse to preach about two safety items important to all who work around dangerous machinery, including winches.

First , if you must wear rings, please have a groove cut into the inner surface of the ring clear across the ring. If done correctly, and if your ring gets caught on something, the ring will break, not your finger getting degloved, or broken off.

Secondly, If you must have long hair, please tuck it well up into a cap. The smae thing that happened to the glove can, and does happen to long hair. The injury is accurately described as a scalping.
