replacing mast support
Islander 28, 1979: the mast has dropped .5-.75 inches, rotten plywood. Has anyone replaced the ply between the steel post and the wooden post with the mast in place.

If its been a while since you had the rig down it may be time to inspect a lot of stuff.
There are a lot of tools for lifting that might work - otherwise - It might be really simple to get all materials in hand, cut, fitted etc; back off the rigging at a cooperative marina and have them hook on and hold it up while you slip in the spacer. |
Islander 28 mast
thanks, I am trying to avoid the $200+ fee the boat yard will charge, maybe less if they just hold it up for an hour. We may want to repair the mast mounted radar anyway so the mast may be coming down anyway.

I cant see how the mast could stay up
If the wood is rotted it will take a good amount of time to cut and re-glass the area |
