Fish Finder Brand Advice

I''m thinking of getting a fishfinder as a backup depth-speed unit and as something else to watch while in the cockpit. I''ve noticed an Eagle and a Lowerance for sale at or under $150ish. What''s the word on these?

Fishing is getter better in the Hudson but I''ll be in FLA waters in 24 months.
