where can i find a mast for a small sailing dinghy (8ft dinghy) approx 12 ft mast. the dinghy is a "sea puppy" by skimmar

Find a metal supplier if you want a small section of aluminum tubing. It shouldn't be too hard to piece together with some pop rivets and some basic hardware.

Or you can try three other options:

-Buy a second handed mast (or boom) from another dinghy and cut to fit;
-Build your own wooden spar (hollow or laminated)
-Buy a glass or carbon fibre windsurf mast (found in many watersports stores) and adapt.

Second the windsurfer mast. World is full of em; check Craigslist, local sailboard stores, etc. Should be able to pick one up for free. Just as an aside, I've been pondering the idea of using a small cruising boat's spi pole as a mast for a nesting hard dinghy.

when I needed a mast for my dinghy I was able to remove the pivoting step from a old wind board and attach it to my 9' Livingston. Now the mast simply clicks into place. got it all for free off craigslist
