Transmission fluid

I own a 1980, Catalina 30 with a Hurth transmission. The manual calls for type A transmission fluid. When I go to the auto parts store I am unable to find type A. Can anyone tell me which one on the shelf is now Type A?

Look up the fluid that fits older GM cars. Rather than trust my memory the auto parts store should have a chart.

We used Dexron II (or Dexron III maybe.. not sure D II is still available)
