Keel gouge repair

I am looking for advice on how to repair the a gouge in the leading edge for my keel. I didn't do it, really i didn't we bought the boat last season (with the gouge) and didn't get a chance to do much before she when into the water.

The gouge is near the bottom of the leading edge and is about 4in tall. It looks like someone hit it with as sludge hammer. Its on a 1984 C&C32 with lead ballast. We don't do much racing so it doesn't have to be perfect. And we only sail in fresh water. If you need more info i can provide it.

I am looking for what type of product to use and how to do it and any other advice you think i might need.

Thanks for your help
