Air Breeze Problem
A few months ago my air breeze started having problems. The unit would start spinning at a high speed then come to a shuddering halt. It would continue doing this every few seconds. I tried to find out if anyone else had this problem on the message boards, but no one replied. Finally I took the unit off of my mizzen mast and sent it back to Southwest Wind Power. They repaired the unit under warranty and shipped it back to me at their expense. Now the unit is back up and performing as designed. That is the good news.
We are now in Georgetown Exuma and have heard of several other people who experienced the same problem. There is a list of Air Breeze and Air X owners who have experienced this problem on the VHF net. And the tally is now up to 25 owners with this problem in Elizabeth harbor alone. Southwest wind power is shipping rebuild kits and repairing the units, but they are using the same parts that failed. We love our Air Breeze when it is working and Southwest Windpower has been diligent in fixing the broken units, but it seems like there is a major design flaw with the product that they have yet to figure out.
