Can you help me configure my GPS attenna?

Okay. This is driving me nuts.
Last summer I bought a M.C Marine external GPS attennna in France. I installed it to cordinate with my Cmap on my laptop. I used it all summer and it worked beautifully.

Last month I reformatted my laptop and yesterday I reinstalled Cmap and the driver for my attenna. Now I can't get the Cmap to read the GPS attenna. I think I need to configure it to use COM 4 ????? but I can't seem to remember how to do that???? My memory is fuzzy and the manual is in French and ... well... I guess I'm having a senior moment.

Can anybody help me out?
Manny

Check your device manager to see whick com port is the antenna
Configure cmap to that input device

ask cmap nicely - it can be finicky to set up
good luck

Thank you! It took me a bit but we're up and running

I also found that I need to disconnect from the internet and unplug my modem. That would be something that I didn't need to worry about last summer when I was only on WIFI. Also I needed to plug the antenna into the other USB.

But your advice was definetly the key. Now I'm off to write all that info down... just hope when I need it next I'll remember where I wrote it
