Replacement Fuel Filter for a Yanmar 1GM??

I just purchased a Hunter 27 with a Yanmar 1GM diesel and I'm looking for suggestions on what is a good replacement fuel filter system for it?

Are you looking at the primary filter or the secondary (the one on the engine) If primary then a racor filter would be best fitted, try to get a top loading type as they are much easier to change, with a 30 micron filter also consider fitting valves either side to help in filter changes. The secondary I would keep with Yanmar, it filters to around 10 micron.

I'm repowering with a small diesel and have been advised to to get the smallest RACOR with an internal filter and that's the 500 FG. The point is that the cost and inventory of external screw-on filters is so much more that the internal filter for 500FG so it's the better option. If you shop around you'll find low cost differntial pressure gage packages with the filter that will tell you when you need to replace the filter.

I'm new to the land of diesel and figured out after I put the post up that I was asking about a primary filter suggestion since the engine has one on it. I was looking at a racor filter - Racon 120AP. The flow rate is 15 GPH, is that ok for a Yanmar 1GM? I assume it is, but you know how assume works sometimes. ...I like adding the valves idea. Thanks!
