Fuel Polishing connections

I will be adding diesel fuel polishing to my list of things to maintain/repair. The top of my fuel tank has a pickup and a return connection. Can I Tee into these lines to run the polishing system or do I need separate pickup and return lines on the tank? I am concerned that the Walbro polisher pump would starve the engine lift pump. I want to be able to polish while motoring. Thanks for any wisdom you have.

Totally INDEPENDENT recirculation polisher is preferred --- separate diptube (at the very BOTTOM of the tank) and separate discharge back into the tank ... with recirc. discharge near the BOTTOM or discharging onto a sidewall - to prevent foaming.
Yes indeed you can 'starve' the lift pump with a Walbro if the recirc system is 'cross-ported' into the fuel delivery system.
