What Dinghy

I have a very new 2.5 HP engine that I need to match a tender to.

The inflatable lengths are 8'10, 9'6 and 10'2. The best match for the motor seems the 8'10 but a tad small, the 9'6 seems like a better choice, but I may have a great deal on a new 10'2 and want opinions on wether you think it is too much boat for the motor or if it may just move along as well or better due to the increased boyancy? I'm not looking to be able to plane and it is not my daily access to the boat, I have a club launch for that. Its just for a week and a couple weekends of cruising LIS each year.

What do you think?

My friends have a 10' 6" dinghy. Last summer, they had to move it in 20+ knots of wind with four adults aboard using a Tohatsu 3.5 HP four-stroke. It worked just fine. The 2.5 HP is probably a bit underpowered.

dingy

Get the smallest one you can that will still fulfill your needs but make sure it has a hard bottom, that is one that fits inside the dingy, not one that is part of the boat.
