I know that this is a little late, but here is what we did since we did not want to put any large holes in our cockpit. We got some side mount Bose environmental speakers and mounted them to the sides of our turtle which is under the dodger. The speakers are on the sides and out of the way and point towards that cockpit. I bought a speaker a/b switch that I have by the stereo in the salon. The back outputs from the stereo go to the a/b switch that has an output for the back speakers in the salon or I can switch to the output to the cockpit speakers or both.

Remetau, that's very close to where I would have ended up if I was not able to get them into my combing boxes. I don't have a turtle like that, but I would have mounted them on brackets under the dodger on both sides of the companion way. My only hesitation was that I do a little racing and will sometimes take the dodger down, thereby leaving them very exposed to spray.
