Anti-Torque line for A-Spinnaker

i have been thinking about getting a furler for my A-Spin. all of the furlers need a anti-torque rope installed on the spinnaker. does anybody have a ball-park cost (per foot) for an anti-torque line? can this be done DIY? what are anti-torque ropes made out of. there is very little info on Google about this.

thanks,

G~

I've been looking at the same thing.

The anti-twist rope is available on-line, but it's pretty expensive, e.g., $5 per foot for 3/8 (9mm).

I talked to a rope company rep at a boat show and he said just one company in Germany makes it. He described it as being sewn through along its length, and having spectra or something as a core.

He said the ropes with parallel high-tech core might be OK, but regular double-braid would twist and untwist too much to be useful.

If anyone's got a better lead, I'd appreciate hearing it, too.

try calling riggingonly.com. They might be able to help you, as they sell a lot of furlers for asyms and such.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

thank you both for those links. it is so strange that finding any information about anti-torque ropes is so difficult.
