Nauta holding tank fill fitting as vent?

Looking at the Nauta site I see their vent fitting for the holding tank bladder is for a 5/8" hose. However, the fill fittings are for 1.5" hose. Why couldn't I use another fill fitting as a vent fitting, and get better airflow? Most of the articles I've read suggested 1" lines, so wouldn't slightly larger be better than smaller?

You need to attach your vent hose to something at the other end, like a thru-hull just under the toerail. Most of the purpose made vents accept 5/8"+/- hose. I installed two 5/8" vent hoses to two thru-hull vents. Seems to work well (4-5 years).

So you installed two of the standard Nauta 5/8" vent fittings on your holding tank bladder and ran them to through-hull fittings. Did you use plastic through-hulls or metal?
