Using Pitthane over Awlgrip on a spar

I need to repaint my non-anodized aluminum mast. It currently has Awlgrip paint. Because of the expense and hassle of using Awlgrip, I'm considering using Pitthane 35 instead. Does anyone have experience with this paint on a mast? If so, can you prime and paint over Awlgrip (after a good sanding)?

I'm primarily concerned with corrosion resistance. I'm not looking for a showroom finish, but I'd like it to look uniform.
Thanks,
Matt
