Catalina 18 Sails

I have been trying to find a new 150-155 furling genoa for a catalina 18. It's an easy thing to find for every other size of catalina but a 18. Does anyone know of a source? I did see them for sail last year (should have gotten it then) but I can't find them anymore. You would think Catalina Direct would have them but they don't.

Thanks for your help

Frank

tommays will become famous soon enough
In all my J24 time outside of racing we do are best to NOT use the 150 as if there is any wind at all >5 knots its just a PITA with a very small speed gain

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

While I don't doubt what you say, does anyone know of a sail source for the catalina 18?

A good source is any sail loft. Have you contacted a sail maker? They should have data on the IJPE dimensions that would let them build a sail. Would your tracks allow a 150? Not sure where you are in MI, but I've had good luck with Kent Sails in St Clair Shores.

Catalina/Capri 18 sails

Sailrite.com has Catalina 18 sail kits, which they will complete for an extra charge. You have to search under Capri 18, which is what this boat was called until about 2000. Owners of Catalina/Capri 18s shouldn't waste their time with Catalina Direct. I have bought a few things (stanchions, etc.) from them, but they don't have a clue which of their products work on an 18, and I actually think they forget that there is such a boat sometimes.
