Switching brands/types of paint will lead to colour matching problems, but essentially you could sand out the damaged area, apply some primer and using a foam brush apply some activated Awlgrip (if you have some spare left over?)
It won't be perfect but will probably look better than what you've got. We did that to "repair' the occasional dock rash, looked OK from a wee distance, but it was evident up close.
