Volvo Saildrive Zinc is loose

Hi. I have a Volvo Penta 2002 with a 120SC Saildrive. I recently had the zinc replaced and it is already a little loose! It was secure when I put the boat back in the water in 11/09. I am wondering if someone has experience with this. Is it okay for it to be a little loose? It still has some contact with the aluminum of the saildrive, I suppose.

If the zinc isn't tight to the saildrive, it isn't going to be able to do its job as effectively. You really need to replace them regularly, about when they get to the 40% size.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Have the same issue with mine. Took great care to make sure that bad boy was tight when we installed it - was loose after about 15 hours of use.......... I am also only getting 10-11 months of life out of it. Is that normal? I installed new galvonic isolator just 7 months ago, too.

Well, that helps. At least I know it's typical. Thanks.
