Hood Stoway Mast
I have a Hood Stoway Mast of my Morgan 512. Date of manufacture about 1983. The system still works well and does a lot of work. I teach sailing and seamanship in the Bahamas. However, although the electric motor and furling system are good, the manual emergency part does not. I took out the gearbox and found that the two beveled gears inside have broken down. The gearbox has the letters J & B -10 stamped on the outside. The original stick on label is unreadable.
Has anyone any ideas on where I might find a new or second hand gearbox.....and has anyone had one of these boxes rebuilt? I have more charters starting in June and I would like to get this problem fixed ASAP.
My email newlazydays@yahoo.com
Many thanks. David Kitching.
