Battery Banks

Is it OK to have different sized battery banks. I have two banks. One with 2 batteries and one with one battery. All duel purpose wet cells. 3 batteries at 65 amp each. (195 amp hrs) I need to replace the two batteries . To get more amps I was going to use two 6 volts deep cycle. (230 amps) Plus the 65 amps on the single battery bank. 295 total. How does this effect charging?

How do you charge the banks? Do you have one alternator and then an echo device, or a charger with an echo or perhaps separate outputs? Most bigger boats have a battery and a house bank that have different capacities and, more often than not, different batteries. This is not a problem if the two banks are charged with a smart device and are not usually combined.

I have one alternator charging which ever battery selected. Also a 2 output AC charger. After one bank is charged does the charger go down to a trickle charge for both?
