Forespar TruPlug

Anyone use or have Forespar's TruPlug? It's basically a 9" by 5" foam cone used for plugging holes/cracks.

I purchased one from Defender today as an alternative to wooden plugs for stopping leaks from failed thru-hulls. Could be gimmicky, but I thought it was cheap enough that I'd add it to our safety equipment.

Don't have, don't plan to buy, but think it is a good idea on a monohull. Nerf footballs also work fairly well, and are a lot cheaper.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Ha! Good point about the Nerf! Defender sells the TruPlugs for $15.

I'm basing that on a local news story from a while back:

And the Nerf is USCG Approved!!

Does anyone else see the irony of a company that mfr's thru-hulls and plumbing fittings is now marketing a thru-hull plug??!!??
