j24 Mast boot size

Hi,

I have yet another question. My mast boot is torn. It is a 1984 J24.

I have gone to Kenyon J/24 Mast & Components

And noted that there are 2 mast boots available. My next step was to measure the opening. From outside the collar around the hole for the mast I have measured 10.5". I appreciate that I am Canadian and prefer metric, but I do not see a 10.5" option.

So my question is: What to do? Should I order both and see what fits? Does anyone have any information by year which boot I need? Do I need to go back to measuring school? ( I am serious here).

Did you measure your circumference? That will determine whether you need small, or medium! The SSI Boots come with adhesive because you have to cut them in half unless you are pulling the stick (an obviously stupid thing to do for a mast boot).

Thanks. I didn't consider the circumference. I thought they were referring to the size of the hole the boot covers.

You want the BIG boot because when the mast is chocked all the way back the smaller one will not cover

I bought the SSI and it was a good fit on the mast ,Buying from the place your listing is PAINFUL

Thanks Tommays. Do you have a link? I searched for SSI mast boots and I found a universal mast boot that does not look like your photo.
