West Wight Potter Galley Pump Leaks
I just filled my potable water tank for the first time and got entertaining results.
When you pump water into the sink, there is a high pressure leak that squirts water out of the pump at about the same rate that it goes into the sink. In fact, that pump is so efficient that it can fill my glove compartment in under five minutes, with effort.
All kidding aside, I need to get this fixed. The sink is of little use with the pump in this condition. On land I've rebuilt many a faucet, but that generally requires a gasket kit. I'm having trouble finding parts. International Marine has been of little help. They say their pumps are made by "Coastal Group," but I can't find any such company on the web. Has anyone else run into this particular issue? Can you help me find parts?
Can you post a photo of the sink fixture? Have you considered that replacing it might be a faster, easier, if a slightly more expensive option?
The sig looks familiar but you're missing a bit.... :D
I don't know my way around one of those big P19s :) , but if the guys on the Potter forum at TrailerSailer.com don't know the answer, nobody does.
Not yet. And I've already thrown a lot of money into the boat. If I can fix this on the cheap and have it work, I'd rather not drop a lot of money on it.
And yes, I cribbed your sig. It's a good idea!
