Polypterus is on a distinguished road
Origo 6000 oven

I was thinking of getting an Origo 6000 alcohol oven however the available width I have seems to be a little shy of the space necessary for the oven plus the gimbals. The oven itself without the gimbals will fit according to the manual, however it's about 1/2" to 5/8" to big when I include the gimbals. If anyone has one of these, I was wondering if you could give me some idea if you think it would be possible to have some low profile custom gimbals made that would work. I know this is kind of a fuzzy question but if you could give me your thoughts, it would help me make a decision on if it's worth taking the risk ordering the oven.

AdamLein will become famous soon enough
You could consider looking around for a knock-off alcohol stove that's a bit narrower. I had the same problem and ended up getting the CookMate Double Burner stove, which fits more or less fine. It was also cheaper than the Origo. Check www.swego.com (no relation).

Alternatively it may be that it was the same size and that the price was just more to my liking.

Don't know about the Origo stoves, but Force 10 makes a standard and a 'European' model, the latter of which is 1 inch narrower between gimballs... since our boat was foreign built only the European model would fit.

You might ask if Origo does the same.
