Mystery tool-- Anyone know what this is?

Hi,

I found this tool-for-something in my boat. I sent an email to the previous owner, and he claims not to know what it is.

My guess is that it is a rigging tool to help slide the main sail bolt rope into the boom.

Anyone know for sure what this item is?

That's a feeder for your profurl.
You squeeze it and it snaps into the extrusion.
