deck refreshing...need advice, tips?

my boat has been sitting in a barn 15 years, the hull is fiberglass and in good condition, the deck is plywood, the paint is cracked and dry.

hears what I wanted to do, sand then apply a coat of diluted epoxy, I want to dilut the epoxy so it penetrats the wood.
next a few coats of paint.
is this an ok procedure for restoring old wood?

rgds

Here's West's opinion of thinning epoxy as well as a better solution:

Thanks Brian after reading the link you have provide, I realise epoxy is overkill, my deck only needs a fresh paint job. I do have some rotten wood down below, but they are easy to change not worth salvaging.

thanks
