Air flow under cushions

Hi Everyone...

I am looking for an affordable thingy that can go below the cushions in my cabin so air can flow under them. I found some stuff designed just for this, but its pretty pricy. Has anyone else solved this problem without breaking the bank?

Thanks...

Jim

See Dri-Dek | Interlocking Tiles, Sheets & Rolls . Trim to fit.

We use Froli Sleep System, but yeah, it is pricey.

I used a product that I was pleased with called Hypervent on our last boat. Not cheap and you have to shop since some people sell it by the yard, others by the foot and not much difference in price. Here's their website complete with prices.

A second vote for hypervent. We bought something that looks similar to hypervent from Defender and swear by it. We've had it about 5 years, living aboard fulltime year round, including condensation-prone winter in the Chesapeake and no mold/mildew problems anywhere. Not at all pricey compared to reupholstering all the settee cushions

Choir (coconut fiber) or even plastic (polypropylene) mats under the cushions are supposed to work as well. The problem comes with getting them the right sizes - hence the Froli system. We've found the latter quite comfortable, but haven't used it for more than a season yet.

Thanks again everyone, I am going to go with the Hypervent. Yeah its pricy but not nearly as much as other products I looked at. I'll need 9 yards. Hopefully it will last many seasons, and keep me from needing to replace or recover my cushions.

Best,

Jim

My hypervent stuff has arrived! I was very pleased with how light it is. Won't add much weight at all.

For those of you who have used it, how did you cut it? It seems to be made of metal. I need to trim it to fit the contours of the bunks.
