epoxy primer question

yesterday i got the chance to buy a gallon and a half of awlgrip paint for a killer deal so i bought it (topside paint). i dont need it yet but ive been reading up and it seems im going to need an epoxy primer for it. i was wondering since i have alot of epoxy already (6ish gallons 100% solids) could i use it as a primer or is there something special about the awlgrip epoxy primer.

If you want to be sure of good outcome it would pay to stick with one brands system as the stuff is fussy about how its used
