Good source for bimini bolts?

I was adjusting my bimini yesterday and the bolt went overboard. Although I had a hard time measuring it on its way to the water, I believe that it is 1/4-28 x 1" or 1.25". A standard 1/4-20 bolt does NOT work - the threads grab after about a quarter turn. So it appears to be a finer thread count.

I have the bolt on the other side that I could measure, but I am afraid it may go overboard also due to its awkward position. So I would prefer to just buy a couple. Not 50 or 100, just a couple.

Do any of you know of a vendor, online or local, who might have this? FYI, Westmarine only has 1/4-20, no finer thread counts.

You probably need a 1/4-28 bolt. Standard threads for 1/4" bolts are 20 and 28 threads per inch. Any hardware store should have them.

Sorry, I neglected to point out in my original post that I had already looked at two local hardware stores, and also Home Depot and Lowes. All any of them have are 1/4-20. If you can suggest a specific local store that carries 1/4-28 in SS, it would save me an awful lot of driving around.

1/4-28 bolts

1/4-28 is "Fine" thread, also called SAE thread. Try your local autoparts store.
Online, McMaster-Carr should have them.

My local ACE hardware has a good selection of stainless steel nuts and bolts in both English and Metric.

I just had to replace some on my bimini and come to find out that they are 12-24 and very hard to find. I found some brass ones at an ACE hardware.

I found another local independent hardware store that had it. I will become a regular there - great selection of hard-to-find bolts.

The nearest AceHardware is 20+ minutes away. And down in Delaware, where I work, there is not a single Ace Hardware in the whole state!
