NMEA 0183

I currently have a GPS that feeds an electronic charting package on a PC, that feeds data up to a display (a radar actually) up on deck using NMEA 0183 sentences.

I now want to add an autopilot that will receive this NAV information. I also want to pull data from my wind indicator and feed it to both the display and the autopilot.

In short - that will give me two talker sources (the GPS/Computer arrangement and the wind indicator) and two listeners (the display and the autopilot).

My question is: does anyone know if it is possible to rig this up without using a NMEA multiplexer?

Thanks for your answer if you know.

Stormer,

Look at: www.garmin.ch/pdf_branch/GPS%20(multiple)%20%C9ot_repeater.pdf
I havn''t tried it yet, but it should work.
It seems to work for multiple listeners and single talker too (gps to pc + autopilot)
Let me know if things work.

Sincerely,

Marc
