tar epoxy barrier coat on fiberglass

Has anyone ever used '' bluewater tar epoxy'' as a barrier coating on a fiberglass boat. I would like to hear the pros and cons. I'm in the process of adding a barrier coating on my older dufour 34. I was contemplating on applying ''Interprotec'' . A fellow boater who just finished applying ''Bluewater tar epoxy barrier and AF50 antifouling'' on his fiberglass sailboat sort of talked me into giving it a try..................But..., I'm still skeptic as to the long term efficiency of this process. I've been trying to get some insight about it on the net but did not come out with much information.

Any information from the sailnet community would be greatly appreciated.

I would stick to Interprotect. It is a proven product and with a barrier coat you won't know if it is doing its job right for a few years. Why go to all that work and gamble on an unknown?
5 coats minimum of Interprotect.
