My Icom M802 acted wierd Saturday

I am incrementally setting up my rig and installed one of the pieces, the USB -RS 232 cable to download weather faxes. Something wierd happned when I turned my desktop computer on, the radio also came on. Is this normal? Is it possible that the radio is getting power from the computer?? or just a signal to turn the radio on?

The desktop is a mini HP. thanks
