huh?

What's your point? Yes, anchoring is usually a deliberate action that sometimes is done during emergency conditions. The only time it's not deliberate is when some fool forgets to tie off his anchor properly on deck and it falls off!

Depends where you are.

Middle of the Atlantic; sure lines and even the anchor[s] can be stored below.

Sailing 1/4 mile off a lee shore I would suggest that everything is on deck, attached and ready to go at a moments notice.

Let's start with what you're sailing and go from there.

No...?

feels funny talking about what I am sailing and how I intend to sail. I have never sailed, as I said befor on an other thread as a kid my oncle would bring me fishing cod off coast of sept-ils in an open boat, we would be fare away from any shore 14-16h strait in good or bad wheather, I guess you can say I have seen some sirious seas that many old timers wish they never see.

I needed to explain a little about me befor I tell you why a optained a sailboat and how I intend to use it, simply said I whant to navigate the gulf stream to the bahamas no coastal cruising, at least not in usa teritories.
once iv been to the islands and back (probably next year) then I intende to sail Aisia, iv been studying the Asian fauna for 25 years and have plenty of work left to finish in the molucans and PNG. so as silly as it may sound my boat is to be my house for probably the rest of my life.
hear my boat, she may not be the perfect boat but I have the impresion she chouse me not the other way aronde.
cheers
