tommays will become famous soon enough
Paper towels a bit of dawn and a lot of elbow grease as you really dont want to hose it down and get water in bad places or make up a lot of oil laden water

Fixing the oil leaks helps

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

most store bought stuff is fairly caustic and really rough on the environment..I would try the dawn and elbow grease with some oil pads in the bilge like tommays did...really can't argue with the results....

Don't forget the q-tips for the hard to reach places!

Or, just go to your friendly local auto parts store and get some engine cleaner and use it. It if works, great, if not try another brand. I have had luck with that purple stuff (can't remember the name but I think it's something unique, like Purple Power) on an old pickup engine I had before I changed it out.

Absorption pads under the engine during the process would go a long way toward appeasing the environmentalists here too.

If you are lazy like me and don't like to use elbow grease or Q-tips, go the Wal-mart or auto parts store to get this:

Just spray and hose off. Use shop vac to pick up the run off. I can't stand dirty engines.

I used about 1 gallon of water and then let it evaporate

I am use to working like this becasue at work we cant let any oil into the sewer system and so i try and do the same thing at home

I find it funny with all the BP anger people are willing to spray something all over there motor and just hose it off in the driveway
