auto pilot drive belt

I believe i have an autohelm 3000 autopilot, can;t find the manual. Any way i would like to get a spare belt for it. The belt has these numbers on it 672XL050 stamped on it. Is this telling me how long the belt is? WHere can i purchase a spare?

Call polybelt at 800 859-7659. They sell belts that fit autohelm.

That's a standard industrial gearbelt code.
672 = the length of the belt = 67.2 inches
XL = belt pitch code (size of teeth) = "extra light" = 0.2 inch pitch
050 = the width of the belt = 0.5 inches
This code says nothing about the materials the belt is made from. Standard neoprene with nylon cord would certainly work, but more modern materials (polyurethane cover with aramid cords) would possibly last better in a marine environment while (of course) costing more and being harder to find.
Any power transmission house would have these or be able to order quickly.
