parts for arco winch

Where can I find parts for old Arco winches - specifically the rubber ring for the lower jaw of the winch? I've tried Hutton-Arco Winches in Australia with no luck.

thanks
Ivana

I'm surprised that Hutton-Arco (The Australian Yacht Winch Company) couldn't help. Presumably your winches must be very old indeed for them not to have spares. When we had to rebuild our 20 year old Maxwells we found virtually all the spares we needed at HA and I have to say that they were incredibly helpful, not with just the spares but also advice and diagrams.

Sadly many of those parts will be no longer available as so many of the older winch companies have either gone out of business or have stopped making sheet winches. HA did buy up old stock but they are not producing all of the parts catalogues.

If your problem is one of communication, let me know and I'd be happy to follow it up for you.

(and no I don't have any specific connection with Hutton-Arco, just a satisfied customer.)

ps - I'll need the exact model and the specific parts required.
