Storing Rope & Chain Anchor Rode

Heading down the ICW this winter and need to add more chain for the Bahamas than the token length I use in the Chesapeake.

How best do I store a combination rope (200''x1/2" nylon) & chain (60''x1/4"HT) rode?

I plan on two of these rodes and will need to midify the shallow bow locker on my O''Day 34 to do so. I can set up pipes to areas low in the bow for the chain but don''t like the idea of tryiny to stuff the nylon down there. (Afraid it won''t go down smoothly and that it would tangle with the chain.)

I thought there''s be something written somewhere but can''t seem to find anything on the subject!

Not sure how often you need access to the second rode, but here is a suggestion, for what it''s worth: Get a duffelbag with a drawstring top, and put a grommet hole center in the bottom. Tie a stopknot 6'' from the bitter end, feed the bitter end thru the grommet hole. Loose-coil the rode into the duffel bag, chain and all, to the anchor shaft. tie the drawstring.
When you need this rode, haul it out of the locker, secure the bitter end, drop anchor and cleat off the rode with proper scope. Leave the duffelbag with excess rode tied to your boat on deck, To retreive, open the drawstring and loose-coil the line back into the bag. Hope that helps, It works on my smaller boat.
