Navman Replacement Parts

Just hastily bought a Navman 5600 Chartplotter\GPS. Unfortunatley, it comes without a power cable. I've searched the Internet , including the Northstar Support site. to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I think I can safely say "more fool you for buying a piece of junk" without being accused of abuse cos I too have been guilty of the same. Reality is Navman gear is simply not very good but for the moment that is not your problem is it ?

Surely the power cable is not going to be a proprietory item ? My guess is that any electical gear outlet will have one to match. Radio Shack, that kind of place.

A photo of the power connection would be helpful.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

The plugs and sockets are proprietory items, and I only managed to get a replacement socket from the UK/French Plastimo company when they were agents for Navico.

As Northstar now sell an uprated Navico plotter, surely they can sell you a power cable. I would suspect the Northstar ex-Navico plotters use the same plugs and sockets.

Worth a phone call to Northstar.

It probably would be worth a call to Northstar as a lot of their original gear was simply re-labled Navman and as Philip says they are still offering upgraded Navman designs. . Hopefully though they have managed to improve on the original.

Regarding the plugs, I had a look at our Navman 5380 and the power cable is an eight pin type like this.....

If yours has the same eight pin configuration (male on the unit, female on the cord) then I'm still thinking that someone like Radio Shack/Tandy whatever would have. I believe it is called a "Multiplex 8 Pin Din" but don't quote me on that.
