No easy way. Only 1 way. Manual and mechanical.
Get a 2' - 3' long piece of flat metal (an old wood saw would do) and work it around the board in the trunk.
Barnacles hate getting metal shoved at them in tight quarters almost as much as I hate being poked in the eye with a sharp stick.
