Catalina 28 mk1 and mk11 issues

I am considering buying a newer Catalina 28 sailboat. When I say newer I mean 1995 to 2000. Can some one tell me if there are any structural changes between the mk1 and the mk2 or were these mostly cosmetic (such as wider transom, better ventillation, etc). I am hearing problems with the bilge area glass work cracking and separating on some of the older boats... were these areas addressed with the mk11 version? I also understand that the mk11 has better chainplates that are not as prone to water leaking as the mk1 version...

If someone could provide some info of the built quality of this era Catalina 28 boats. Thanks.
