Raymarine Pathfinder and DSC data

Has anyone connected a VHF with DSC to a Raymarine Pathfinder GPS?

Raymarine, when I can get them to respond to questions, speaks in tongues!

I have an ICOM422 with NMEA in/out wires and I cannot figure out where to connect them to bring in GPS positions.

For what ever reason there is no industry wide color code on the com wires

But each unit has output wires and input wires and a common/ground wire

The output from the GPS goes to the input on the radio

The output from the radio goes to the input one the GPS

The common wires connect to compleat the circut

You have to read the manuals to Id the wires

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

Does the Raymarine GPS have NMEA 0183 output? If so, then wiring it should be relatively easy. You need to check the manual for the Raymarine Pathfinder and see what outputs it has, and what version of NMEA 0183, if any, it has. Be aware that if the Pathfinder does output an older version of NMEA 0183, it may not be compatible with the iCom, which may require a newer version.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
